Dive into summer at Calypso Waterpark

LIMOGES, June 14, 2022 - Sunny days are back, just in time for the opening of Calypso waterpark. From Wednesday, June 15, young and old are invited to enjoy the summer at the largest water park in Canada. Located 20 minutes from Ottawa, Calypso is the favorite place for families to have fun, cool off and fill up on unforgettable moments in the company of Wildman Jack and his friends.

“What a pleasure to welcome our visitors again to celebrate summer!” mentions Sylvain Lauzon, President and Chief Operating Officer of Groupe Calypso-Valcartier. “Operations are finally back to normal and all our activities are open and running.”

In addition to numerous slides and 100 water games, the largest wave pool in the country, two fully heated adventure rivers, and the legendary Summit Tower, the tallest water slide tower in Canada, Calypso offers its visitors the possibility of personalizing their visits with VIP cabanas and private spaces.

“This summer, families want to get away without having to travel hundreds of kilometers. With its themed attractions, friendly characters and activities for the whole family, Calypso is the perfect place to fill up on magical moments and cool off with friends,” explains Mr. Lauzon.

Unlimited fun at an unbeatable price

Now part of the large Premier Parks family, Calypso waterpark will offer its season pass at the floor price of $79.99.

“The significant increase in the cost of living, like that of the cost of gasoline, affects everyone. To allow our visitors to make the most of Calypso's activities, we have decided to offer the season pass at $79.99 for a limited time. One price, as many visits as you want during the summer, endless fun!” concluded Sylvain Lauzon.

Calypso-Valcartier Group Resort and Water Parks Joins Premier Parks

Under the Leadership of President and COO Sylvain Lauzon, Calypso-Valcartier Group Resort and Water Parks Joins Premier Parks, LLC

Premier Parks, North America’s Largest Independent Operator of Parks and Visitor Attractions, Acquires the Operations on June 2, 2022

Limoges, Ontario (June 2, 2022) – Active in the organization for close to 15 years, Calypso-Valcartier Group President and COO, Sylvain Lauzon, is set to lead Eastern Canada’s largest leisure destination into a new era of unforgettable experiences as the iconic resort company welcomes a new property owner – EPR Properties, and new management – Premier Parks, LLC. The company will continue to be led by Lauzon with the added benefit of industry experts bringing more than 250 combined years of theme and water park experience to the well-loved resort destinations.

“We are truly thrilled to be joining Premier Parks, leveraging the company’s substantial expertise to continue our history of growth and unparalleled guest experiences,” said Lauzon. “There is simply no other group in our industry that has more experience designing, building and operating visitor attractions. We look forward to working together to grow our parks and continue to offer unforgettable memories for our visitors.”

Premier Parks has no plans to make organizational changes and are committed to work together to ensure continuity of business activities. Local jobs have been secured and each park’s distinct flavor will be featured as a strong sales attraction in its specific market.

“This is a very exciting time to welcome Calypso and Village Vacances Valcartier to our family of parks,” said Premier Parks CEO, Kieran Burke. “We are committed to honor the Drouin family legacy, not change the essence of what has been built here and loved by so many in Eastern Canada. Of course, Quebec is a very special market, but we are looking forward to developing Calypso as a sister park to closer Wet ‘n’ Wild water park located in Toronto. We have great respect and confidence in the current management team and we know they will flourish under the leadership of Sylvain Lauzon.”

After an amazing business success story, the Drouin family has made a difficult decision. While they will no longer be involved, they are extremely confident in the leadership and excited by the new opportunities now available for Calypso-Valcartier Group. They are convinced that this transition is the best option to ensure the future of the parks, their employees, the local community, and the attractions.
